This Code of Conduct outlines the expected standards of behaviour for all participants in the From Flab to Fab Football & Netball League, including players, umpires, officials, and spectators. Our aim is to create a fun, friendly, and inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the game of netball in a spirit of fair play and mutual respect.
2. Core Values
* Respect: Treat all participants with respect, regardless of their skill level, background, or role.
* Sportsmanship: Play fairly, adhere to the rules, and always show good sportsmanship.
* Inclusivity: Foster an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
* Enjoyment: Remember that this is a social league, and the primary goal is to have fun and be active.
* Safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants.
3. Player Conduct
* Respect for Opponents:
* Play fairly and within the rules of Netball.
* Shake hands with opponents before and after the game.
* Avoid unsportsmanlike conduct, including taunting, intimidating, or belittling opponents.
* Respect for Teammates:
* Be supportive and encouraging to your teammates.
* Communicate positively and constructively.
* Value effort and participation over winning at all costs.
* Respect for Umpires and Officials:
* Accept decisions made by umpires and officials without dissent.
* Address umpires and officials respectfully.
* Provide feedback or raise concerns through appropriate channels, not during the game.
* Respect for Equipment and Facilities:
* Treat all league equipment (balls, bibs, etc.) and facilities (courts, changing rooms) with care.
* Report any damage or issues promptly.
* Personal Conduct:
* Arrive on time for games and be prepared to play.
* Manage your emotions constructively and avoid aggressive or violent behaviour.
* Refrain from using offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language.
* Do not consume alcohol or illegal drugs before or during games. Smoking/vaping should be done away from the playing area and spectators.
4. Umpire and Official Conduct
* Fairness and Impartiality:
* Umpire and officiate games fairly and impartially, applying the rules consistently.
* Maintain a professional and approachable demeanour.
* Respect for Players:
* Communicate clearly and respectfully with players.
* Explain decisions when appropriate, particularly for less experienced players.
* Professionalism:
* Be punctual and prepared for games.
* Continuously seek to improve umpiring skills and knowledge of the rules.
5. Spectator Conduct
* Positive Support:
* Encourage all players in a positive and respectful manner.
* Applaud good play from both teams.
* Respect for Officials:
* Do not verbally abuse or harass umpires, players, or officials.
* Accept decisions made by umpires.
* Responsible Behaviour:
* Refrain from using offensive or abusive language.
* Do not interfere with the game or obstruct players/officials.
* Keep the playing area clear of personal belongings.
* Supervise children appropriately.
6. Breach of Code of Conduct
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which could include, but is not limited to:
* Verbal warning
* Formal written warning
* Temporary suspension from the league
* Permanent exclusion from the league
The From Flab to Fab Football & Netball League Owner will investigate all reported breaches and take appropriate action. All parties involved will have the opportunity to present their case.
7. Membership Payments
Memberships are due on the 1st of each calendar month; they need to be paid by the 5th at the very latest. Anyone who has not paid their membership will be ineligible to play in the league until they have paid. Without the memberships being paid, we will have no venues or umpires, so it is imperative that it is paid promptly either in cash or to the details below.

8. Reporting Concerns
If you witness or experience a breach of this Code of Conduct, please report it to a League Coordinator as soon as possible. All reports will be treated with confidentiality and addressed promptly.
9. Agreement
By participating in the From Flab to Fab Football & Netball League, all players, umpires, officials, and spectators agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
